Making Music a Family Affair Join the choir – Yes, you’ve heard it before. Maybe you’d like to but you never have time to spend with your family – hold it right there! It’s an opportunity to spend MORE time with your family as Coro Alabanza de Sion proves every week. The group sings at the 12:30 Sunday Mass and the choir seats are filled with adults and children who love to sing their praise to God and lead the congregation in song. Jesus and Laura Chavez started by singing, playing guitar and encouraging their children to sing at the Mass, before long other parents who like to sing began to bring their children, and other individuals also joined; now we have a full choir section on most Sundays. The New Traditions Choir also has appeal to families; long time choir members Ken and Emilee Siarkiewicz have shared their love of music and community together for many years and recently we have welcomed Dana and Joe Tumminello into the choir adding their musical talents on flute and guitar. All of our choirs need singers, so consider the possibility of making music at Santa Catalina a part of your family time. It’s a great way to give to your community, spend time together with loved ones and build a foundation of faith and family traditions. You can call Victoria at 529-4049 if you’d like more information about rehearsal times and Mass schedules. All are welcome; all ages, voices, and abilities – couples, families, friends and individuals. Please consider giving of yourself in this special way.
